Exciting news!
Through the generous funding of the Rev. James Currie Memorial Trust , J.D.C. Publications Limited, Troon, have published The John M. Mason Collection on 17 October 2025.
The publishers have confirmed that first edition copies have been posted out – all over the world, we understand – as a charitable donation to the recipients, with the purpose of preservation of the work and to raise awareness of the compositional work of John M. Mason.

It is worth noting that the website allows not only digital download of the two volumes of tunes free of charge but also download of individual tunes. Many of the tune settings are accompanied by suggested chord backings too.
On the website, you can also complete an information sheet stating that you are interested in obtaining a hard copy of the reprint or second edition of the work.
If the website generates the necessary interest for a second edition, J.D.C. shall consider the position and keep interested parties fully informed.
The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra is delighted that John’s tunes have been published in such beautiful and accessible form.
The SFO would wish to thank the funders, the publishers and all who have contributed to identifying, collating and arranging the (over 600) tunes, given the staggering amount of work this has required.
